What's in store for 2021

Hello after a long hiatus while I finished off my degree. Since I last made a post, so much has happened. We have finally seen the back of 2020, Tr*mp is out and Biden is in, Brexit has finally been completed (ish, there is still so much to work out, with a lot of tension currently over vaccine distribution) and we are into a new year.

However, despite the numerous vaccines being rolled out all over the world, SARS-CoV-2 still rages, lockdowns and high death tolls are still gripping countries. Additionally, there have been multiple variants of SARS-CoV-2 that are causing serious concern, particularly the UK, South African, and Brazillian varients. Some of these variants are believed to have increased transmissibility and enhanced resistance to antibodies and vaccines.

So it looks like this year will be another mixture of good news and bad news, but hopefully more skewed to the good than last year. Biden's plans to roll out the vaccine look promising (and are better than the non-plan that was in place) and countries and economies are better adapted, while still adapting, to this 'new normal'.

For Engineering Finance, I hope this will be a big year. I am planning on devoting a lot more time to it than I have been. Keep your eye out for new posts, new spreadsheets, and new courses.
