Not a particularly big week this week. The world is closing in on 16 M Covid-19 cases, the US has surpassed 4 M, parts Australia has gone back into lockdown, it's definitely not looking good. Personally, this is why I bought Berkshire, as their large balance sheet (over 100 Billion USD) will be able to get put to good use when the US market inevitably crashes due to repeated lockdowns. However, New Zealand is performing well due to the absence of restrictions on the economy other than the border closures.
There was the news (fortunate or unfortunate depending on your viewpoint) about the Tiwai aluminium smelter closure in 2021, which hit energy stocks, particularly MEL, hard.
